Real

Alright, so this is my entry for the contest: heroes, villains, and sidekicks.
They are both original characters from an original story. the name of the story is Real (hence the title).

Noah Parker (the dark haired one) is a 16 year-old charismatic coward that just wants to go home and Gabriel (our blonde "hero") is a 2 year-old very human android.

Story:

Everything takes place in a not too distant future. The world is divided in two sides that are at constant war. One side is governed by a serious and rather scary man named Bortigen, the other side is ruled by a mysterious man named Lucco.
We don't know much about Lucco, though. And we focus on Bortigen's side where everything’s dark and cold and people live in fear but that’s all they know. I imagine gray streets with hints of red, it’s kind of a dark picture and there’s a lot of homeless people and maybe gypsies and abandoned kids all around.
We learn about Bortigen and Lucco’s rivalry, how Lucco “took” Bortigen’s land to build his own empire years ago and how he’s willing to take over the rest of the world as soon as he can. Bortigen describes Lucco as an evil man whose part of the earth is even worse than his own.
Bortigen is one of those men that couldn’t trust anyone but himself so he decides to get a machine to trust everything to. He spends a lot of money in an advanced android built and programmed to protect him and his information. The android looks and acts so human that it’s hard to tell what he really is, so in order to keep that a secret, Bortigen names him Gabriel and introduces him as his newest bodyguard and right hand.
Enters Kerry, (Bortigen’s daughter) a lonely girl that not knowing the truth about Gabriel, befriends him and falls in love with him within days. Gabriel develops feelings towards Kerry too. (Thinking this is a Disney movie, they should totally have a romantic duet as soon as they fall in love).
When Bortigen finds out about his daughter’s feelings towards the android, he exposes Gabriel in front of her by cutting him and revealing the wires in his arm. Kerry runs away, shocked.
Later on, she shows up at his room and hugs him tight, fixes his arm by knitting the skin and assures him that even though he keeps saying he’s “not real”, he’s real to her. They kiss. Bortigen sees them kissing and furious, locks Kerry in a cage and takes Gabriel to a dark basement where he ties him up and promises he’ll get someone to reprogram him the next morning due to his “malfunctions”.
In the midnight, someone bursts into the basement, unties Gabriel and helps him out. That’s Noah Parker, a rather impulsive teenager with dirty clothes and ugly teeth.
Gabriel and Noah run away from Bortigen’s palace and when they’re far enough, Noah confesses Gabriel that he knows everything about him and that he rescued him so that he can protect him on his way home to the other side where his dad, Lucco is waiting for him. At that time we learn that Lucco is actually the good guy and Bortigen is the villain that had Noah captive for months.
Gabriel at first refuses to help the teenager, but Noah convinces him by telling him that when he gets home, his dad will see him alive and will start a war that they will surely win, the world will be a better place and he will be able to see Kerry again without the need to hide.
They start their journey to “the other side” and become great friends on the road, they have adventures and fight a couple of bad guys sent by Bortigen who is now chasing them.
At the same time Kerry escapes, fights her dad and goes to find Gabriel because she loves him.
Leading toward the end of the story, Gabriel and Noah get to the other side and meet with Lucco.
Lucco, happy to have his son with him, sends his army to Bortigen’s side.
Gabriel, worried about Kerry runs back to Bortigen’s side followed by Noah, fortunately they find Kerry almost immediately and they hug for like hours, it’s a romantic scene. Then she and Noah are introduced and everything is perfect.
There should be a pretty dramatic moment there, something like Bortigen damaging Gabriel. Then Kerry herself defeating her father and as the war is won by Lucco, Kerry and Noah leaning on Gabriel’s side worried and crying.
Then, someone fixes him, everyone’s happy again and the world becomes a better place.
